Christine Huerta
Stewardship Champion
Christine Huerta is a passionate advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, drawing from her lived experience as a dedicated special needs mother. Her personal journey has given her a deep understanding of the challenges families face—particularly the pressing concerns of long-term housing, support, and care for loved ones.

Christine has been advocating for the special needs community since her high school years. Though her original path toward special education teaching shifted, she embraced an even more personal role as a “SPED mom.” She brings to the board valuable expertise in nonprofit board training and organization, fundraising, and event planning.
Beyond her advocacy work, Christine treasures adventuring with her family, and she also enjoys movies, TV, reading, and learning new things. She describes herself as quirky, passionate, and expressive. Her favorite quote, from Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium, reflects the way she approaches life and service:
“Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.”
